Mkep.rnNowadays obesity became one health problem in the world for children and adults. Fectors that influence obesity include genetic factors, dietary habits, physical activity and socioeconomic. Obesity can be prevented if found signs of obesity in children, so it needs to be done early prevention. Based on a preliminary study conducted in March 2013 through the teacher know that the students found 6 out of 43 students (13,95%) are obese. The objective of the research is to know the mother’s attitude toward obesity in school age children 5-6 years in kindergarten PGRI Pondokkelor Paiton Probolinggo district.rnThe research used a descriptive. Study the population is of the all mothers who have children attending in kindergarten PGRI Pondokkelor Paiton Probolinggo district. The study sampel of the were 43 mothers who met the inclusion creteria. The sampling techniques were all the total population.rnThe result of the study showedthat of most mothers have a positive attitude a number of 26 respondents (60,5%). The conclusion showed that maternal attitudes toward obesity in school age children 5-6 years in kindergarten PGRI Pondokkelor Paiton Probolinggo district regency quite good. Advice that should be given is extension and approach needs to be improved futher in order to pay more attention to the mother of the child’s diet daily.
