Difference of Acceleration of Navel Cord Release in Newborn Baby Treated with Dry Gauze and ASI Gauze at Ngadilah Amd.Keb Midwife Practitiones, Pakis Subdistrict, Malang Regency. D3 Midwifery Study Program of Widyagama Husada Health Science College.rnAdvisors: (1) dr. Rudy Joegijantoro, MMRS. (2) Fitri Meilani, SST.rnTwo kinds of treatment are given for navel cord, and these are modern and traditional treatments. Modern treatment uses antiseptic substances such as alcohol and betadine, while traditional treatment uses honey and ghee oil. Kurniawati (2006) proves that the length of time of navel cord release with ASI is 127 hours (the fastest time is 75 hours) while the average length of time of navel cord release with dry open technique is 192.3 hours (the fastest time is 113 hours). Based on preliminary study on March with February data, it is shown that of 8 babies treated with dry gauze, their navel cords were released averagely on Day-5 to Day-7. Type of research is one-shot case study. The population of research were 20 newborn babies delivered at Ngadilah Amd.Keb Midwife Practitiones on May. All of them were taken as sample with sampling technique of saturated sampling.rnResult of statistic test with t-test at significance rate of  = 0.05 indicates that tcount > ttable (2.965 > 1.735), and therefore, H1 is accepted. For babies with their navel cords treated with ASI, there are 6 babies that their navel cord releases are accelerated for < 120 hours. For babies with their navel cords treated with dry gauze, only 3 babies have their navel cords released in < 120 hours.rnIt is then concluded that there is different acceleration of the release of navel cords treated with dry gauze and ASI gauze.
