Dr. Indah SerinuranirnHypertension is a degenerative disease that becames a major issue in society. Hypertension is closely related to variety of risks of complications. Currently, the cases of hypertension is increases. This diseases can be treated with variety of treatments ranging from pharmacology to herbal medicine. In addition to herbal medicine and Pharmacology, one effort to lower blood pressure is cucumber ekstract with hypertension consumtion since it contains potassium, magnesium, phosphor and diuretic. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of cucumber juice to decrease blood pressure in elderly.rnThis research is experimental research, using Analytic design that is analyzed by Spearman Rank formula. The research was conductet in the posyandu anggrek of donomulyo village mulyosari sub district manalng regency with 25 elderly in hypertension diseases without a companion is population. The research was conducted over six days. The first day of the elderly blood pressure measured to obtain an average blood pressure before being given a treatmant, then for five days each were given preferential treatment in the form of cucumber ekstract as much as his blood pressure measured 75cc and on the evening after treatment.rnThe results of this study indicates no effect of giving a cucumber juice to decrease blood pressure. Cucumber juice can lower blood pressure in elderly 23 (92%) for 4 to 5 days.
