HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TERHADAP ADAPTASI STRES PADA NARAPIDANA PEREMPUAN DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN KLAS II A KOTA MALANG

Background: A convict is someone who has committed a crime and is currently in
prison. A prisoner will serve a sentence in accordance with the crime he has
committed, it aims to change his attitude for the better, and not to commit the same
violation of the law in the future (Priyatno, 2013). Social support is information
obtained from other people who love, care, and respect us which is part of a
communication network that is a shared obligation of parents, partners, relatives,
friends, and social communities (Taylor, 2013).
Objective: To find out the relationship between social support and stress
adaptation in female prisoners in the Class IIA Penitentiary in Malang
Methods: The type of design used in this study was observational analytic with a
cross sectional.
Results: The results showed that the adaptation to stress in the low category was
32 people with a percentage of 37.6%, the number of moderate respondents was
14 people with a percentage of 16.5%, and high was 39 people with a percentage
of 45.9%. The results showed that social support in the low category was 31 people
with a percentage of 36.5%, the number of moderate respondents was 51 people
with a percentage of 60.0%, and 3 people high with a percentage of 3.5%.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the Spearman rank analysis, it was found that
the value of 0.000 is smaller than the value of (0.05). This means that there is a
relationship between social support and stress adaptation in Class II A Correctional
Institutions, Malang City.
